In spite of all of their boastful claims, anybody paying attention has come to realize that Democrats are actually the enemy of the middle class in America, not their guardian or friend. From restrictive taxes to job destroying policies, Democrats continue to burden the shrinking middle class as more and more, citizens fall below the poverty line.

Washington State far left Democrat Governor Jay Inslee provides a perfect example of how the Democrats are out to destroy the American Middle Class as he vetoes $81M for CRC yesterday, making the claim of “It’s all or nothing.”

On first look, given that our state once again faces a budget deficit exceeding $1 Billion, it may appear that he is actually cutting expenses. But the truth is far different. His ultimate goal in vetoing the $81 Million is an attempt to force the legislature into passing a measure to spend $450 Million to begin construction of the contentious Columbia River Crossing light rail project, forcing Clark County’s middle class taxpayers to not only accept the light rail they have repeatedly rejected, but pay for it too.

If approved, the $450 Million turns into $3.4 Billion to start. Cost overruns and interest on bonds, TIFA Loans and more would likely triple that amount, all on the backs of the middle class in Clark County who have seen over 4 straight years of double digit unemployment.

But that doesn’t seem to matter to Democrats like Governor Inslee or Jim Moeller (D Portland/49) as they blindly rush to burden taxpayers with a bridge too low that will likely see more tax dollars used to help relocate those upriver businesses negatively affected by the inadequate bridge height, designed solely to accommodate light rail, out of Clark County, likely to Oregon or another state.

Erik Smith at the Washington State Wire in Olympia provides insight missing in several reports with his article, Governor Takes Breathtaking Gamble on Columbia River Bridge Project where we see,

“By using his veto pen on the appropriation, the governor signaled that he believes there is no middle ground. But from the perspective of the project’s critics, he has created a self-fulfilling prophecy. The $81 million appropriation aimed to keep the project on life support until the Coast Guard can decide whether the low-hanging bridge design presents a hazard to navigation and places too significant a burden on existing and future industrial development upstream of Interstate 5.”

Senator Ann Rivers (R 18th) says of the Governor’s gamble,

“The Legislature gave the governor an option, and he just took it off the table. … It feels a lot like he just pulled the plug on the project.”

Senator Don Benton (R 17th), a long time opponent released a statement saying,

“While I didn’t anticipate his veto, I give him credit for sidelining a project that simply isn’t the right investment for Clark County and our state as a whole – which is why our Senate Majority Coalition Caucus has been united in its opposition.”

“I want a Coast Guard-approved crossing that meets the needs of Clark County commuters when it comes to reducing traffic congestion and the needs of our state concerning freight mobility, by road and by river. I’m willing to delay the funding until we have a design that reflects those priorities. The governor’s veto accomplishes that.”

Pulling the plug on the project as it is currently designed is precisely what should be done in order to save our struggling middle class who will bear the burden of this fiasco, both in paying Billions in extra taxes to pay for it, high tolls in perpetuity and the loss of future job growth due to the inadequate height of the bridge design to accommodate light rail.

Representative Jim Moeller (D Portland/Vancouver) on the other hand, is ecstatic over the Governor’s attempt at heavy-handedness saying,

“Thank you, Governor! It’s time to fish or cut bait! There is no ‘re-do’ option available. And to Sen. Ann River’s comment: of course it’s gamesmanship and the governor plays to win! Hello! The options have just been narrowed…”

Moeller, who not too long ago was channeling global warming guru Al Gore with his moronic “the debate is over” must not realize, in his blind allegiance to this fiasco, that his options are now gone! Not “narrowed,” but gone!

Moeller adds,

“This is to force a vote on the ENTIRE transportation revenue package – Regardless of the CRC. It all goes forward or none of it does!”

Moeller’s arrogance blinds him to the fact that “none of it going forward” is the likely outcome of this bluff of Inslee’s.

People don’t like being strong armed into accepting something as ridiculous as this doomed project that promises only to bankrupt the middle class as Portland, Oregon drains more precious tax dollars out of our local economy.

Clark County’s middle class can ill afford Inslee’s folly to fund these dream projects that might see a few local union members hired. In case he hasn’t been paying attention, the price of gasoline currently in and around Clark County ranges from $3.83 to $4.09 per gallon and he wishes to add another 10¢ per gallon in taxes.

Along with that it has been proposed that car tag license fees could increase by $20 apiece, adding a $25 fee on to purchases of bicycles costing $500 (on top of current sales tax), a potential employee head tax on businesses and of course, tolls on the already paid for bridge in anticipation of the faulty designed light rail project moving ahead.

Given the tenor seen in the Senate Coalition Majority earlier this year, this is likely a gamble Inslee will rightfully lose and his bluff is called as they kill the Transportation package. But, as we have seen too many times, many measures thought dead suddenly come alive again in Olympia.

To forestall that possibility, we need to turn to the U.S. Coast Guard who will be conducting meetings on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel on the River, 909 N Hayden Island Drive, Portland, Oregon and on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hilton Vancouver, 301 West 6th St, Vancouver, Washington on the proposed application to approve the inadequate bridge height.

The Coast Guard is seeking input from the public on the potential affect this will have on our community and river navigation. Your input may be in person at one of the above listed meetings or you may submit them in writing through Regulations.gov by June 20, 2013.

It’s time we citizens in Clark County stood up to the likes of Democrats like Jay Inslee and Jim Moeller who see us ATM machines for repaying wealthy donors to their campaigns. It is not enough that we rely on the slim Coalition majority to kill this middle class destroying CRC light rail project, we must do our part too in calling Inslee’s bluff.

I urge you all to read the proposal at Regulations.gov and submit your comments, letting the Coast Guard know that the current proposal has no public support, will limit river navigation and future job growth, decimating the future of Clark County Washington.

It’s time to stop this madness, redesign the project into something we citizens who will pay for it want and can afford and tell Portland to bail themselves out of their folly of an ever intrusive light rail.

We don’t want it!

Clark County Washington is the largest county in what is considered Southwest Washington with a population nearing 450,000 people. With people often hungry for news, one would think an impartial news source would thrive catering to that population.

Unwittingly, the local newspaper of record, the Columbian, better known as the Lazy C reveals that they are considered a “mid-sized daily newspaper with a circulation between 25,001 to 65,000,” or at best less than 15% of the county.

While many reasons could be listed for such a minimal circulation in the county, partiality and lack of interest in many issues of concern has to be given attention.

While accused of being politically left and constantly denied by the Editor, it doesn’t take much looking to see that they indeed are a mouthpiece in favor of Democrats instead of an impartial source of political views.

We can look at how they Lazy C strongly favor the Columbia River Crossing light rail project, demeaning and ridiculing the majority in the county who oppose it. Labels like “Hounds of Whinerville,” “Cockroaches” and “Ankle Biters” aren’t uncommon coming out of the editorial department.

Minimal coverage is given over many missteps and blatant mistakes made by the CRC in designing the project leading Editor Lou Brancaccio to once opine,

“There have been so many missteps on this Columbia River Crossing project that if it was entered on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ it would be voted off before Mike Tyson. It’s just mess after mess. The tomfoolery is epic. Even its most ardent supporters would agree with this. For me, I hold my nose and close my eyes, and say we should move forward.”

We saw the disparity over the resignation of Republican Richard Curtis in 2007 soon followed by little interest when Democrat Jim Jacks suddenly resigned amid controversy, the Lazy C claiming that with no paper trail, there is no there, there.

And of course we see the recent angst on their part over the perfectly legal and proper hiring of Sen. Don Benton by County Commissioners Tom Mielke & David Madore as for two weeks, we have been given 32 rants from the mouthpiece trying to whip up the lynch mob attitude adopted by a few fringe in the county and utterly failing.

But none of it compares to the blatant favoritism given Democrats in the state when compared to the treatment of the Clark County Republican Party sanctioning former Commissioner Marc Boldt and the ongoing effort by the Washington State Democrat Party to not only oust, but ruin the careers of two other Democrats who helped form a Philosophical Majority Coalition in the State Senate and actually engage in bipartisanship to get the state moving again, heavily opposed by Democrats in the State.

While expressing some agreement with the power-sharing coalition, the lazy C strongly opposed the reelection of Sen. Don Benton that made the coalition possible. But, the comparison of their feigned outrage over the sanctioning of Marc Boldt by Republicans and silence over the efforts of Democrats to completely oust State Senators Rodney Tom and Tim Sheldon from their party is deafening.

The Lazy C was quick to let readers know that the sanctions by the Clark GOP was a “Self-Inflicted Wound” that would surely see Commissioner Boldt easily reelected as a punishment by voters against such a strong handed action by Republicans. In an effort to make it appear that the sanction splintered the party, the Lazy C reported that two members of the Party Board resigned, even though they had only been on the Board a few days.

He was resoundingly defeated by a wide margin.

But what have we read about the efforts of the State Democrats to not just sanction, but completely ostracize and oust two long time members for acting in a bipartisan manner as voters have asked for over several years?

We read of local elected officials being split over partisan lines concerning the power-sharing with Democrats not liking it at all.

But what we don’t see published is any “self-inflicted wound” by the Democrats in spite of numerous emails and efforts to completely sever the two from the party.

You wouldn’t know about it from the Lazy C, but in February the Democrats wrote and passed a Resolution to Censure State Senators Rodney Tom and Tim Sheldon that they still prominently display on their website.

The party still displays a scathing statement from Chairman Dwight Pelz on Tom/Sheldon Proposal that led to the coalition.

A series of emails sent out, that I find very hard to believe I receive and the so called newspaper of record doesn’t, makes claims of, “Governor Inslee will face a State Senate that has been hijacked by Senate Republicans and two pretend Democrats” and “Senate Republicans together with Senator Rodney Tom stole our Party’s narrow State Senate victory with a backroom, behind-closed-door leadership deal.”

One such email from Chairman Pelz had as a title Send Rodney Tom Packing.

The Clark GOP sent out no such emails or calls to party members, but were blasted unmercifully by the Lazy C for efforts to sanction Boldt.

Democrat leadership have stated it’s nothing doing with the partisan cooperation, labeling it a rejection of voters values since they no longer control the power.

But the Lazy C chooses to ignore this even though it directly affects what happens in Clark County and elsewhere within the state.

Where is the “self inflicted wound” for Democrats as there was for Republicans?

Where is the condemnation of Democrats for such blatant rejection of the very bipartisan legislating we have long called for?

The Lazy C treated us to “Why was Boldt sanctioned by GOP?” on Mar 22, 2012, “In Our View: GOP Wounds Self-Inflicted” on Mar 25, 2012, “Boldt not allowed to speak at convention on Mar 27, 2012, “Boldt flap prompts two to quit GOP board” on Mar 28, 2012, “County GOP convenes at Hilton,” on Mar 31, 2012 that made sure to mention Boldt being sanctioned, followed by “Herrera Beutler supports Boldt, Mielke” in their All politics is local blog on May 4, 2012 and finally a John Laird editorial, “Banishing Boldt, distrusting drones and pushing peace” on May 6, 2012 over Commissioner Boldt.

But what do we read on Democrats Rodney Tom and Tim Sheldon?

Crickets.

It would appear the real self-inflicted wound is the one the Lazy C has done to itself in their heavy partisan view and complete of objectivity and impartiality where readers deserve it.

Little wonder they can only draw less than 15% of the county at the best.

For the balmy raining day the car turn out was tremendous, many people coming out to Boppin’ Bo’s for an afternoon of eats, cars and Rock n Roll.

The day started with decorating and loading a truck graciously supplied by Waste Connections with banners promoting the Clark County Veterans Court, sound equipment and of course, the entertainers to treat spectators lining the route of the Hazel Dell Parade of Bands to a taste of what they would find at Boppin’ Bo’s.

The lovely Petya Grozeva, Champion Fiddler Cynthia Hamm and Elvis Tribute Artist Mark Stevenz manned the float, singing and playing as the float slowly traveled the parade route.

But Boppin’ Bo’s Malt Shop and Grill is where it all came alive as the restaurant quickly filled to capacity, over flowing into the parking lot as people came to see the many cars and to “forget your worries and what life sometimes throws at you, and remember a time when life was easier” as Boppin’ Bo’s offers as well as enjoy some great food and Rock n Roll.

From a limited production Saleen S-7 to a vintage Porsche along with Muscle Cars of the 1960’s and classic Hot Rods, more than two dozen people braved the threat of rain to show off their fabulous cars.

The audience traveled back in time to hear Cynthia Hamm pay tribute to Connie Francis and more.

Mark Stevenz wowed everybody with his Elvis Tribute as he always does and the crowd thoroughly enjoyed seeing him include a ‘Little Elvis’ from the audience in the show

Mark is undoubtedly a dynamo of energy as he engages the audience singing the best of Elvis and makes each and every audience member feel as if they are singled out for attention.

As previously said, these Cruise-ins are for the benefit of our Veterans Court where the few troubled Veterans returning from war that may experience problem readjusting are given a break instead of just being thrown away, considering that as a society, we gave them their problems.

Numerous events as this were held last year to raise funding to keep the Veterans Court running and this summer will undoubtedly see more of these shows.

If you missed this one, you owe it to yourself to come out to one of the next ones.

I can attest that you will forget you are at a fundraiser as you lose yourself in the best shows the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

One thing anybody with half an ounce of sense recognizes, it is the liberals propensity to always cry victim. They must be the eternal victim, even if they win and especially if they lose an election or whenever something doesn’t go their way.

We see the same attitude with the Lazy C Editor, Lou Brancaccio as his efforts to whip a large scale lynch mob mentality in the county over the County Commissioners hiring of Sen. Don Benton to head the County Department of Environmental Services basically falls flat on its face.

Brancaccio treats us to the Lazy C’s 32nd rant over the hiring by trying to proclaim nobody supports the decision of Commissioners Mielke & Madore because no one in elected office answered his call to come forward and defend the hiring.

To Brancaccio that translates to no support while ignoring that more and more elected officials are shying away from speaking with the mouthpiece on newsprint.

Several of our elected officials look upon the Lazy C more as foe than a friend or impartial media and have grown weary of being blasted, having their works or words misrepresented and reading borderline slanderous claims about them.

And as you can expect, Brancaccio even tries to twist their avoiding him into some sort of fodder for his point of view, forgetting they are no longer the only game in town.

The few commenters that still comment on his columns try to take him to task, to no avail. They make valid points that he ignores and when mentioning what a pathetic source they have become, what else does he do but cry victim, right on schedule.

What Brancaccio leaves out of his rants is that Commissioners Mielke and Madore did absolutely nothing wrong. They broke no laws, and violated no code. They chose someone for a job they felt would do well and within their duties as Commissioner’s, expedited the hiring to have someone in place before it’s too late to hopefully create some much needed middle class jobs this year.

But, they chose someone the Lazy C and many Democrats abhor, Sen. Don Benton who has been a target of theirs for almost two decades, in spite of repeatedly being reelected by voters.

Of course, if you are someone the Lazy C likes, such as disgraced former 49th Legislative District Representative Jim Jacks, you can sexually harass women staffers and they have your back, crying “no paper trail” to help cover up such nefarious acts many in Olympia claim happened.

But point out the obvious bias and favoritism, and here comes the victim card of “blame the media.”

A lot like B.J. Clinton’s, “there’s no there, there” and “it depends on what the meaning of ‘is,’ is.”

And when the agenda fails, your excessive rants fail to incite a community to any degree and elected officials both refuse to obey your wishes and shy away from discussing very much with you, cry like a baby.

Ask Josephine Wentzel, Brent Boger, Kelly Hinton (who didn’t even run for office), Alan Svehaug, Don Benton, David Madore, Tom Mielke, oh hell, just ask about any Republican candidate or elected official and you’ll likely hear an earful of how the Lazy C twisted, smeared, attacked and even admitted they were the better candidate, but endorsed their Democrat opponent.

But we are to believe they are impartial as once Brancaccio editorialized, “we try to be nobody’s friend or enemy.”

And yet, after his many rants against conservatives for refusing to “cooperate” with him for interviews or responses, he opines that their silence now translates to no support whatsoever for Commissioners Mielke and Madore or Sen. Benton, other than what he defines as “frenetic and friendly bloggers and Web commenters … defending the indefensible only a few are willing to tackle.”

And of course, what makes it “indefensible” is that the Lazy C doesn’t like it!

But since the move was perfectly legal, within the Commissioners job description and elected powers, no one even needs to run to the Lazy C to defend anything. It is incumbent upon the Lazy C to show where it was wrong or improper and so far, they have failed.

All they have shown is that they and Commissioner Stuart don’t like it and in spite of all of the efforts to whip up a lynch mob mentality in the County, they have only succeeded in verbalizing a very small group frantically calling for a recall, but ignoring the words of the P P boys, ex-Mayor Royce Pollard and ex-State Senator Craig Pridemore that there is nothing to base a recall upon.

In reality, the only thing “indefensible” is the Lazy C’s overblown denigration and attacks on people they don’t like as they see their agenda dismantling before their eyes.

In the meantime, the nation is becoming more and more embroiled in scandals of epic proportions by their beloved Democrats as we peel back the cover-ups to discover an administration more crooked than any seen before who uses the IRS to fight opposition, refuses to aid a consulate under siege, taps the phones of other media and illegally sends weapons into the hands of drug lords in a neighboring country.

Is the Lazy C outraged over any of that?

Maybe they would be if Sen. Benton or Commissioners Mielke & Madore could somehow be tied to it.

The Lazy C has a place on their site they call the “Open Forum” where those who wish to retain their anonymity can spew away their delusional thoughts without signing up for a facebook account to reveal who they are, unlike regular comments under every day articles.

The place is sort of buried, requiring you to click on Opinion, and then scroll to the right to forums, click there to open then scroll down to the week’s worth of rants to see what is there. Those who frequent it, mostly Libtards and a few Paulbots seem to refer to it as “the Basement.” I refer to it as “the Dungeon” where malcontents assign themselves as Dungeon Keepers to speak out in full anonymity, unwilling or unable to stand up for their views openly.

A Dungeon, more common during medieval times, were often seen as dark, cold, damp rooms built below castles where torture took place or people were thrown if they disagreed with the King or Queen and where freedom was lost while Castle Guards and Dungeon Keepers freely roamed to torture, ridicule or mistreat those imprisoned in them.

300 or more rants in a week isn’t unusual at the Lazy C’s dungeon and cover a wide range of complaints, everything from bitching about Commissioners Madore & Mielke, ranting about Sen. Benton, ridiculing conservatives and every so often, complaining about yours truly, me.

I actually find it quite comical to be the subject of such angst among Libtards & Paulbots, especially considering they relegate me and this blog as irrelevant. But apparently relevant enough that they visit it and read it frequently.

At one time, early on, it seemed to be a little more even handed but, has increasingly become a domain for the Libtard and Paulbot mentality, most who apparently do not wish to stand behind their words with their actual names.

That I can so easily irritate them is a badge of honor I wear proudly.

This week, for instance, has some wondering where I am and why I am no longer commenting on any of the Lazy C’s articles. One asks, “Also, anybody heard from Lew Waters? I haven’t seen him on the FB side for a while.”

As is to be expected, replies amount to, “that Lew Waters is MIA as others. I’ve heard that he was at one of the Commissioner’s meetings but left in a hurry. I would have loved to have a word or two with the man himself and his ideology over the truth and common sense approach to local politic commentary… HE is one of a kind…he just can’t reason..,” “you asked about Lew Waters earlier. He cannot comment on the C, he is way too busy writing posts on his blog. And what posts they are…,” and “Just got done checking Lew’s site myself. Wow – He’s having a good time with this Lazy C business.”

Why yes, matter of fact I am.

Of course, none of them thinks of emailing to ask why I am not commenting there, that would be too easy and since it would be the sensible thing to do, given most of them have no sense, escapes them.

I especially love the feigned offense taken over my post M&M vs the P P boys where in response to Lou Brancaccio’s M&M for Commissioner’s Madore & Mielke, Pridemore and Pollard became the P P boys for their part in the lynch mob mentality seen lately.

Of course, doctored photo’s of conservatives as monkeys, vampires, being hung or beheaded is never considered offensive to this person.

Yet another one, just this morning believes to have uncovered major conspiracy concerning our friend GoldenOldie who commented there and had the audacity (in their feeble mind) to speak freely on this blog

“Virtual Suicide?” A little over the top, don’t you think?

But it goes to show that she was right in her comment left here that the Libtards & few Paulbots dominating the Lazy C’s Dungeon have no interest in discussion or exchange of ideas, they intend to dominate and indoctrinate and feel their anonymity within the Dungeon grants them that.

Most laughable to me with those malcontents is sighting me at certain events I did not go to. It leaves me wondering just who they spied and scorned erroneously. Some older guy with white hair who may not even know me might still be wondering about the visual daggers directed at him.

The selection of Sen. Benton by Commissioner’s Mielke & Madore really got them going as my posting the actual audio and a transcript of what was actually said became an effort by me to “spin the selection as Bill Barron’s doing.”

You can read it and hear for yourself at The Great Clark County Collusion Caper Debunked and judge who spun what.

Some have confided in me that they suspect Jim Moeller or Tim Leavitt might be hiding behind some of the anonymous names and I must admit, while not leveling that accusation TO BE CLEAR, I AM NOT LEVELING SUCH AN ACCUSATION, I do see a certain similarity in some comments and postings by the likes of Jim Moeller who recently channeled bombastic, blowhard Al Gore with the following;

As we know, that is the way of the Libtard and Paulbot to shout down, demand and declare debate over, never considering another view or that they might not be so perfect themselves. But as Governor Inslee issued in his marching order, “increase the decibels,” bullying to get what you want is okay, for them.

It’s all just another day in the Lazy C’s Dungeon where anonymous malcontents choose to spew their garbage, unwilling or unable to support their rants and who live a life of vitriol against anybody who dares believe differently.

The eternal victim even when they hold the majority.

Grabbing all credit and deflecting all blame with hate filled rants while they demand tolerance and acceptance for themselves.

If you ever get bored or need some comic relief, pop over to the Lazy C’s Dungeon and stroll through the maze of intellectual ignorance and verbose fatuity.

Just don’t expect anything remotely resembling factual information.
